Welcome to Dance Tech with JHsu! My name is Jonathan, and my goal is to help dancers harness the power of technology to make a bigger impact in the world with their dance. Whether you're looking to improve your social media presence, create compelling video content, or navigate the complexities of online marketing, this channel is for you.

My Journey and Experience

I graduated with a dance major in 2014 and have since had the privilege of performing with incredible companies like Rennie Harris Puremovement, PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER, Culture Shock DC, and Orange Grove Dance. Additionally, I’ve worked as a projection designer for dance shows, a social media manager for a dance theater in D.C., and a freelance videographer and photographer specializing in dance content.

Currently, I teach hip hop at a studio and still work in many freelance capacities, and I’m passionate about exploring how technology can enhance the dance experience. From editing music and videos to improving social media strategies and marketing techniques, I love researching and experimenting to find the best methods.

Why This Channel?

When the pandemic hit in 2020, dancers everywhere were struggling to adapt to online platforms like Zoom for teaching and performing. I saw a huge need in the dance community and started this channel to help. Initially, we focused on virtual dance classes and making dance films, but as life returned to normal, I got busy with other projects and unfortunately had to put the channel on hold.

While I still see a need for that type on content, I see an even bigger need for dancers to learn how to market themselves online with tools like social media and websites. Whether it’s mastering social media algorithms, creating engaging content, or developing a personal brand, there’s a lot to learn.

What to Expect Moving Forward

Here’s what you can expect from Dance Tech with JHsu:

My goal is to make this journey less overwhelming for you. I’ll break down complex topics into manageable steps, helping you take one step at a time toward your goals. Whether you’re a dancer, teacher, choreographer, or part of a college dance group, this channel is here to support you.
